Pangasinan/Pangasinese is the official regional language, on the west side of the island of Luzon in the Philippines and is spoken by about 1.5 million people mainly in the province of Pangasinan. Pangasinan is an agglutinative language. There are also Pangasinan speakers in other parts of the Philippines, mainly in the province of Benguet, and in some areas of Zambales, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Nueva Vizcaya and Ifugao, as well as by immigrant communities in the USA. It has a total population of the province of 2,434,086.
The Kapampangan/ Pampango or Pampangan language is one of the key languages of the Philippines and is spoken in the region of Pampanga. The language was spelled Capampañgan and is also called Pampango, and in the Kapampangan language: Amanung Sisuan, meaning the mother language. Kapampangan is also understood in some barangays of Bulacan and Nueva Ecija and by the Aitas or Aeta of Zambales. The southern half of the province of Tarlac and the northern portion of the province of Bataan also speak this language.
Pāli is the language of the scriptures of Theravada Buddhism, which were written in Sri Lanka during the 1st century BC. It is spelled in number of ways like: Pali, Pāli, Paḷi, Pāḷi. Pali is a written language, but it has no unique script. Pāli has been written in a variety of scripts, including Brahmi, Devanāgarī and also using a version of the Latin alphabets.
Palauan / Belauan is a member of the Austronesian language family, and is one of only two indigenous languages in Micronesia that is not part of the Oceanic branch of that family, the other being Chamorro. spoken in Palau, Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands by about 14,000 people and also belongs to Sunda-Sulawesi branch. Palauan is one of the official languages of Palau, along with English. A Latin-based alphabet for Palauan was devised by the Palau Orthography Committee and linguists from the University of Hawaii.
Pahlavi language/ Pehlevi language is the part Indo-European family of languages and a subfamily of Indo-Iranian. . It has the characteristics of a distinct language, but is not one. Pahlavi is the form of the Persian language that followed Old Persian and preceded Modern Persian. It is also called Middle Persian, it was used during the Sassanid, or Sassanian, rule of Persia (3d to 7th cent. A.D.) . It is defined as a system of writing applied to a specific language group, but with significant features alien to that language group.
Oriya, officially spelled Odia is an Indian language, belonging to the Indo-Aryan branch of the Indo-European language family. Oriya is the principal and regional language of Odisha. It is mainly spoken in the Indian states of Odisha and in parts of West Bengal, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh. Oriya is one of the many official languages in India; it is the official language of Odisha and the second official language of Jharkhand.
Marathi is an Indo-Aryan language. It is the official language of Maharashtra state of India and is one of the 23 official languages of India. It is the 19th most spoken language in the world. Marathi has the fourth largest number of native speakers in India. The Marathi people or Maharashtrians are an Indo-Aryan ethnic group that inhabit the Maharashtra region and state of western India.
Malayalam, is a language spoken in India predominantly in the state of Kerala. It is one of the 22 scheduled languages of India. Malayalam has official language status in the state of Kerala and in the union territories of Lakshadweep and Puducherry. It belongs to the Dravidian family of languages, and is spoken approximately by 33 million people according to the latest census.
Korean is the official language of South Korea and North Korea as well as one of the two official languages in China’s Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture. Approximately 78 million people speak Korean worldwide. Korean is spoken by the Korean diaspora in many countries including the People’s Republic of China, Japan, and the United States. Korean-speaking minorities exist in these states, but because of cultural assimilation into host countries, not all ethnic Koreans may speak it with native fluency.
The Klingon language is the language of fictional Klingons in the Star Trek universe. The language’s basic sound, along with a few words, was first devised by actor James Doohan (“Scotty”) for Star Trek: The Motion Picture. It is the constructed language that film marked the first time the language had been heard on screen. In all previous appearances, Klingons spoke in English. Klingon was subsequently developed by Okrand into a full-fledged language. A small number of people are capable of conversing in Klingon.
